robust resting-state functional connectivity with affective brain areas including OFC (Roy et al., 2009). Our finding of higher functional connectivity between NAc and ventral ACC and OFC, between amygdala and OFC in HU may be relevant to previous studies that have demonstrated the involvement of these areas in the pathology of addiction (Bolla et al., 2004; Goldstein and Volkow, 2002), and may underlie addiction related strong craving responses and motivation for drugs in addicts.
