The current study utilized data from a longitudinal study of cognitive and emotional development. The full sample consisted of 410 infants recruited from two research sites (Blacksburg, VA; Greensboro, NC). Forty-nine percent were male; 73 percent were of White/non-Hispanic background; 69 percent had at least one parent with a 4-year college degree.
