suggesting that studying core component processes as they relate to behavioral disinhibition and impulsivity are likely to play important roles in the development of the disorder, and potentially represent mechanisms by which genetic risk unfolds. Although we use substance use outcomes as an illustration of the “other” next analytic post-GWAS steps, we believe that this general line of research can and should be applied more widely to psychiatric and substance use outcomes.
