Zbtb16-/- mice were reported by our laboratory previously21,22. Zbtb16 conditional knockout mice were generated by BIOCYTOGEN (Beijing, China). Using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing on a C57/BL/6 J background, as described in the supplementary data (Supplementary Fig. 1). Lysozyme M-Cre knock-in mice (CreL) were obtained from the Jackson Laboratory. Nlrp3R258W and Asc-/- mice were reported previously58,59. Nlrp3R258W mice were maintained as heterozygotes by backcrossing with wild-type (WT; +/+) control mice from the Jackson Laboratory.Female and male mice aged between eight to ten weeks were used. All mice in the C57BL/6 background were maintained in specific pathogen-free conditions at the Animal Center of Hangzhou Normal University (Zhejiang, China). Mice were maintained at a temperature of 21 °C and humidity of 50-70% and under a constant 12 h light/12 h dark cycle with continuous access to food and water. All experiments were approved by the IACUC at Hangzhou Normal University and Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
