Because anatomic and functional variations in the same brain structures have been linked to variations in neuroticism (Canli, 2004; Haas, Omura, Constable, & Canli, 2007; Omura, Constable, & Canli, 2005), this research also supports the hypothesis that polymorphisms of 5-HTTLPR are linked to neuroticism.
