Future studies should examine these findings more closely, as well as replicate them in a nationally representative sample, so that actionable results can be disseminated to those who treat individuals with AUD. Finally, we believe that the findings of this study may have implications for clinicians and public health advocates regarding the service use by different patient groups based on their generation and sex.
