In conclusion, current study data yield important descriptive information that adds to the growing literature on CUD comorbidity in BD, and highlight the corresponding high clinical burden associated with CUDs, especially within more acutely symptomatic patients with BD. Given increasing acceptance of cannabis use among legislators and the public [31], and evidence from prospective studies suggesting that CUD comorbidity further complicates long-term outcomes and BD treatment response [28,32], enhanced psychoeducation and other treatment development efforts appear to be warranted.
