We also examined association of haplotypes with opiate addiction in NCK2 region. Figure 2 displays the linkage disequilibrium (LD) heat map of 14 SNPs in 28 kb region [66]. Haplotype “AGTTCAGATCTCGT” with probability 0.016 yielded a P value of 1.66 × 10−11. The genome-wide significant association between this haplotype and opiate addiction reduces the chance of a false discovery at the peak of a single SNP.
