Chunk #34 — ACUTE EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL ON THE BRAIN IN SOCIAL DRINKERS — Acute effects of alcohol on EROs

Text

Taken together, alcohol studies of EROs during various cognitive tasks indicate reduced-phase synchrony between and within neural networks in alpha and theta bands, and reduced theta oscillations, particularly implicating effects on frontal areas. The impact on the synchrony and generation of oscillations may influence the various cognitive operations leading to deficits in attention and response inhibition.
