Text

In summary, genetic association study suggests that CYP2A6 gene is associated with obesity in human subjects. Animal experiments suggest that CYP2A protects against obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver in mice, and through regulating lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis, PPARα contributes to the CYP2A protective effects on fatty liver but it opposes to the CYP2A protective effects on obesity.
