We evaluated the hierarchical nature of the large-scale whole-brain functional connectivity network by the β parameter [51]. β measures the extent of the power-law relationship between the clustering coefficient (C) and the degree (k): C≈k −β. The clustering coefficient (C i) and the degree (k i) of every node was computed; β of the network was calculated by fitting a linear regression line to the plot of log(C) versus log(k).
