Text

Cells were allowed to equilibrate at room temperature from the cell-culture incubator (37°C, 5% CO2) for 20 min. TEER values were measured using an EVOM2 voltmeter with STX-2 electrodes (World Precision Instruments). For calculation of TEER (Ω [ohms] × cm2), electrical resistance across a fibronectin-coated insert without cells was subtracted from the readings obtained on inserts with cells and then multiplied by the surface area of the insert (0.33 cm2).
