Text

The most often reported of the SRE scores relates to the approximate first 5 times of drinking (the SRE-5). This value potentially reflects alcohol sensitivity observed before the development of repetitive heavier drinking, which might have contributed to intersession tolerance (Schuckit, 2018). Less often mentioned in the literature is the SRE Total (SRE-T) score that is based on the average drinks needed for up to 4 effects across all three time frames, a value that potentially reflects both sensitivity and the development of tolerance related to repeated drinking (e.g., Schuckit, 2018). Studies involving SRE-3 and SRE-H are relatively rare.
