To promote differentiation of the neural progenitors into neurons, FGF2 and EGF were replaced with 20 ng/ml BDNF (Peprotech) and 20 ng/ml NT3 (Peprotech) starting at day 25, while from day 43 onwards only NM without growth factors was used for medium changes every four days.
