The BD and non-BD groups did not differ in terms of age (t(68) = −1.17, ns), educational level (t(68) = 0.10, ns), IQ (t(68) = −0.73, ns), SDS (t(68) = 1.71, ns), state anxiety (t(68) = 1.33, ns) and trait anxiety of the STAI (t(68) = 1.88, ns). As expected, the BD group exhibited significantly higher AUDIT-K total scores (t(68) = 24.70, p < 0.001), drinking speed (t(68) = 13.42, p < 0.001), number of times being drunk during the previous 6 months (t(68) = 4.92, p < 0.001), and percentage of times being drunk when drinking (t(68) = 6.26, p < 0.001) compared with the non-BD group.
