Fifth and relatedly, Hispanic ethnicity was not asked separately in SSAGA-I and SSAGA-II, therefore we are unable to examine likely socio-demographic and cultural differences between Hispanics and non-Hispanics. Sixth, COGA presents a limited number of questions for help-seeking and treatment utilization. Recent work has shown that many types of mutual aid groups contribute to treatment utilization and long-term remission (Zemore et al., 2018) and not explicitly listing all options could have influenced participants’ selection.
