We should mention that there were no significant differences in the expression of the glutamate vesicular transporters (SLC17A6 and SLC17A7), or the GABA transporter (SLC6A1) in patient vs control neurons (Additional file 6), suggesting that the overall population of GABA and glutamate neurons were similar. Also note that the GABA transporters SLC32A1, SLC6A13, and SLC6A1 are not expressed in these early differentiating neurons.
