Neuroticism is a heritable personality trait [254] that differs most in comparisons of addicted vs control individuals [255, 256]. We have also identified a strong overlap between genome-wide association datasets for neuroticism and addiction [121]; Johnson et al, in preparation). Again, many “connectivity constellation” genes are identified by both of these approaches.
