Along with an analysis of parental influences generally, we analyzed mother-child and father-child relationships in separate models because maternal and paternal influences on offspring psychopathology often differ (Connell & Goodman, 2002), a pattern that may extend to the study of SA among children of parents with AUD (Glowinski et al., 2004).
