Rates of cannabis dependence were substantially higher in individuals who met criteria for alcohol dependence compared with those who did not. For women, the corresponding prevalences were 14.3% and 5.8% for AD positive and AD negative, respectively (OR: 2.71; 95% CI: 1.94-3.80); for men, they were 20.4% and 7.6% (OR: 3.10; 95% CI: 2.33-4.13).
