Trends in unadjusted prevalence of lifetime abstention and current drinking, including binge drinking, are presented below by gender, by age group, and by birth cohort. We also present results for birth cohorts stratified by age groups. No statistical tests were conducted for comparisons between genders or among age groups or birth cohorts. Observed differences between these groups noted in the results below were based on non-overlapping confidence intervals.
