Module (Rice, Reich, Bucholz et al., 1995), was administered to obtain data from one parent about the other when one of the parents was not available for interview. This abbreviated interview has demonstrated reliability (Rice, Reich, Bucholz et al., 1995) and includes assessments of substance use disorders, mood disorders, conduct/antisocial personality disorder, and SA. For the current analyses diagnoses were based on criteria described in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 3rd edition, revised (American Psychiatric Association, 1987).
