Chunk #33 — DISCUSSION

Source
Musculocontractural Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and neurocristopathies: dermatan sulfate is required for Xenopus neural crest cells to migrate and adhere to fibronectin.
Embedded
yes

Text

The demonstration that DS is important for cell migration in vivo might shed light on other processes that are dependent on both DS (Syx et al., 2015) and fibronectin (Muro et al., 2003; Castelletti et al., 2008), such as skin wound healing and kidney function. These processes might also involve a functional link between DS and fibronectin in cell adhesion, as proposed in the present study.
