We then examined the expression levels between controls and alcoholics. No significant difference was detected in mRNAs expression levels for any of the glutamate subunits (Figure 6) nor for any GABA-A receptor subunits between the two groups (Figure 8) in the putamen. Age, brain pH, PMI, smoking history, or RQI did not alter the significance between the two groups.
