hypothalamus, but not in the hippocampus (Wamsteeker et al., 2010). These findings agree with Lee and Hill (2012), but are inconsistent with the current study. Wamsteeker et al. used a 5 sec depolarization step (−70 mv to +20 mv) to induce DSI in both the hypothalamus and hippocampus. A reduction in DSI following CRS was observed in the hypothalamus, however, in the hippocampus a 5-sec depolarization step produces maximal DSI with half-maximal DSI occurring between 100 msec and 1.5 sec depending on the type and concentration of exogenous calcium buffers (Lenz and Alger, 1999). Therefore, if stress altered either Kd or efficacy in hippocampal CB1, then a DSI ceiling effect may have occluded these changes.
