All of them reported to be non-smokers and to be of European origin. All female participants had a regular menstrual cycle (+/− 3 days). All participants gave written, informed consent and were paid for their participation. Both studies were carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and were approved by the ethical committee of the Medical Faculty of the University of Kiel.
