Further, the small, existing literature is mixed with regard to sex differences in the prevalence of comorbid PTSD-AUD (e.g., Kozaric-Kovacic et al., 2000, Pietrzak et al., 2011) and more work is needed to better understand factors that moderate the relation between sex and PTSD-AUD comorbidity.
