that make it less responsive to signals from brain regions mediating voluntary movement (de Hemptinne et al., 2013). In fact, results from a recent study have provided evidence indicating that temporal PAC dynamics may be as important as changes in magnitude of PAC strength. EEG measured during a finger tapping task revealed a PAC motif unfolding across movement execution that was seen in both PD patients and controls, with bradykinesia-related deficits in the PD patients associated with aberrant expressions of this PAC motif (Gong et al., 2022). These results indicate the possibility that dynamic regulation of PAC across time might be at least as important as overall changes in PAC strength.
