Chunk #51 — Results — A Test for Population Structure

Our statistic x(M) is approximately TW-distributed. A p-value can now be computed from tables of the TW distribution. Notice that our statistic is independent of the scaling of the λi, and it is convenient to normalize by scaling so that the sum of the eigenvalues (that is the trace of M) is m′. All eigenvalues we report are scaled in this manner.
