It is worth mentioning that despite our systematic analysis of AUD‐like phenotypes, we did not examine the effects of SDPS proneness in resistance to punishment, which emulates continuation of drug use regardless of adverse consequences. Responding for alcohol, when its delivery is paired with an aversive stimulus, eg, an electrical shock, is a robust measure of compulsive drug seeking, used to identify alcohol‐prone individuals.56 Thus, it would be of great interest to evaluate the performance of the SDPS‐prone population in this respect.
