We used a Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate statistical power to detect the key hypothesized interaction effects, finding that statistical power for the interaction effects were greater than 90% (Substance use initiation × 5-HTTLPR = .947; SAAF × 5-HTTLPR = .914).
