When we assessed patterns of kappa or lambda light chains of the prediagnostic clones according to mutational status, among 30 patients for whom results were available on both light-chain restriction and mutational status, we found that 19 of 25 patients with mutated genes (76%) and 4 of 5 patients with unmutated genes (80%) were kappa-positive.
