liver was completely reversed (Figure S6A). Recombinant muFGF21 did not alter the histological phenotypes in WT sham (data not shown), Tg sham nor Tg–tx mice compared to vehicle controls. The lack of any observable difference in adipocyte size in WT or Tg–tx mice treated with rmuFGF21 is surprising given that the mice lose up to 10% in body weight, likely due to the fact the adipocytes are from lean (non-obese) mice. Nonetheless we continue to observe a reduction in total fat pad weight (Figure S5F–G).
