EROs have been demonstrated to be sensitive measures of both normal and abnormal cognitive functioning in humans (see Basar et al., 1999, 2001; Gevins et al., 1998; Klimesch et al., 1997; Schurmann et al., 2001). Additionally, these oscillations have been linked to several relevant genes associated with ethanol dependence phenotypes (Begleiter and Porjesz, 2006; Edenberg et al., 2004; Jones et al., 2004).
