The PANTHER Classification System (www.pantherdb.org) is designed to be a comprehensive platform for the analysis of gene function on a genome-wide scale1. Although its initial development aimed to classify gene and protein functions2,3, it has evolved through the years to also serve as an online resource for experimental data analysis4. The easy-to-use user interface and timely user support have made PANTHER one of the most widely used online resources for gene function classification and genome-wide data analysis.
