Text

On the outcome side, outcomes such as chronic disease endpoints are measured poorly - often only by self-report - and there is often a lack of control for relevant non-substance use related confounders in many studies in alcohol epidemiology specifically (as distinct from general medical epidemiology). Clearly, alcohol epidemiology needs to improve dramatically in outcome measurement in order to obtain better estimates of the relationships between alcohol consumption and disease risks.
