Text

(Sanabria-Diaz et al. 2010) and the significant relationships between surface area and pack-years may reflect networks related to smoking-related behaviors. Prior data from animal, human and in vivo studies have identified four distinct neurological networks for smoking (O'Doherty et al. 2000; Breiter and Rosen 1999; Koob and Volkow 2010; Volkow et al. 2003). Therefore, the detection of associations between cigarette pack-years and surface area suggest the importance of studying networks of brain structures related to smoking-related behaviors.
