Text

During the Wave 3 in-home assessment adolescents completed the Youth Self-Report 11–18 (Achenbach, 1991). The Internalizing Problems subscale consisted of 14 items designed to measure problems related to anxiety and depression (α = .88). Example items include “I am too fearful or anxious” and “I feel lonely.” The response options for each item were 0 = “not true,” 1 = “somewhat or sometimes true,” and 2 = (“very true or often true.” Higher values indicate greater internalizing problems.
