This applies to females as well as to males. As with males, the IRCs are less varied for females ages 26 years and older than the younger age groups. The IRCs for females in this age group are so close together that the IRC of tolerance cuts across those of other symptom criteria, and hazardous use is akin to cut down and larger amount in terms of its psychometric properties. Tolerance has extraordinarily low discrimination relative to other symptom criteria for females ages 26 years and older, although it is generally low across all gender and age groups. As with males, symptom criteria including give up activities, role obligation, psychological/physical problems, and social problems are ranked at the top for their high discrimination, which is good at distinguishing the majority of the drinkers in the middle range of AUD severity.
