We informed CABs and residents about our study's tangible medical benefits. Furthermore, we offered a “referral guide” listing private practice physicians, community health centers, and clinics willing to treat underinsured or uninsured community members. We disseminated information about the study through advertisements in newsletters and fliers posted in churches, stores, and health centers. We also presented testimonials, highlighting the benefits of the study by HANDLS pilot participants.
