Text

In the 4 sham-lesioned animals, the 2 transverse sections taken at the pre-commissural (0.26 mm from bregma) and post-commissural (−0.94 mm from bregma) striatal levels that were immunostained for MOR were used to estimate the number of D1/D2 MSNs in the striosomes and matrix compartments. Again, all striatal D1/D2 MSNs were counted from previously acquired confocal images and the striosomes and matrix compartments were delineated by using MOR immunoreactivity.
