also less impulsive than those who dropped out, t(df = 1,944) = −2.67, p = 0.008. No differences were observed for age, frequency of heavy drinking, or problems during senior year of high school. Suggesting that our participants' drinking behavior was representative of typical college drinking, monthly binge drinking rates in the current study (mean 38.8%; range 20.9% during senior year of high school to 46.5% during senior year of college) were consistent with national statistics indicating that approximately 40% of college students binge drink at least monthly (e.g., Grucza et al., 2009; Wechsler et al., 2000).
