Results were not adjusted for testing in two populations because we tested three distinct a priori hypotheses: SNPs are associated with FTND in AAs, SNPs are associated with FTND in EAs, and associations are evident with the same SNPs in meta-analysis in AAs and EAs. In EAs, we had 80% power to detect SNPs explaining 1% of the total variance in FTND score and the same power to detect SNPs explaining 2% of the trait variance in AAs (24).
