We performed a phase coherence analysis between FEF and ACC electrodes using WPLI-debiased346061 (see ref. 61 for a detailed mathematical definition of the method). Briefly, WPLI is exclusively based on the imaginary component of the cross-spectrum and it is insensitive to volume conduction from a single source or a common reference. Furthermore, the WPLI is more robust to noise and is invariant when two dependent sources mix linearly and thus it is more sensitive in detection of the true interactions between two signals6061.
