of association with lung function in the general population by a concurrent study,35 and SLMAP, for which there is corroborative evidence of association with lung function (appendix pp 79–80).8 Our pathway analysis identified a novel signal of enrichment of the histone subset of the chromatin packaging and remodelling process gene set, which was independently replicated in a concurrent GWAS of lung function in the general population (appendix p 81).35 Replication of a previously reported8 enrichment of the systemic lupus erythematosus pathway was also noted (appendix p 81).
