Interestingly, the non-European American adolescents (African American or Hispanics) in our sample exhibited higher scores of rule breaking (but not externalizing) than those from European American ancestry. We consider this result with caution since only 5% of participants were from these minority groups. Nevertheless, in other work in children followed through adolescence African American participants exhibited higher baseline impulsivity scores than European Americans (Pedersen et al. 2012).
