With the exception of legal problems, the prevalence rates of the 12 criteria were high, ranging from 0.25 to 0.59 for alcohol, cocaine, and opioids (Table 1). The corresponding range for cannabis was lower, ranging from 0.12 to 0.29. The distributions of the total number of criteria endorsed for cocaine and opioid disorders were bimodal: for cocaine, 36% of individuals endorsed no criteria and 33% endorsed at least 10 criteria, while for opioids the percentages were 64% and 23%, respectively. For alcohol, 30% of individuals endorsed no criteria, with an average count of 7 criteria among those who endorsed at least one criterion. For cannabis, 50% of participants endorsed no criteria, with an average count of 5 among those who endorsed at least one criterion.
