We first examined no-swap trials to establish a reliable signature of the laterality of the WM trace. Data from each prefrontal hemisphere and sample object hemifield were analyzed separately, and then results were pooled on the basis of whether the sample was contralateral or ipsilateral to the recorded hemisphere.
