Text

We examined racial differences in emotional and physical reactivity to family stressors using a two-level multilevel model. The simple form of MLM can be conceived of as two separate models, including a within person (Level 1) and a between person (Level 2) model (Raudenbush and Bryk, 2002). This model can be expressed as: (3)Level1:WELL-BEINGdi=β0i+β1i(FAMILYSTRESSORdi)+edi (4)Level2:β0i=δ00+δ01(RACE·i)+δ02(FAMILYSTRESSOR·i)+δ03(RACE·i∗FAMILYSTRESSOR·i)+U0i (5)β1i=δ10+δ11(RACE.i)+U0i
