Some of the SNPs reported here fall in or near strong candidate height genes, such as the recently described associations with HMGA2 (ref. 12) and GDF5-UQCC​11, whereas others identify previously unsuspected loci. Together, these associations highlight biological pathways that are important in regulating human growth.
